It has been awhile since I last bloged. On the last Saturday of June we had to say goodbye to our old dog Comet. Many joyful memories shared with him. He will be missed but not forgotten.
I spent the next week cat sitting for my Daughter in Macon, GA while she and my other Daughter vacationed in Austin, TX.
While in Macon I visited three quilt shops and a Hancocks fabric shop. I found some bargains and some new inspiration.
I found these two at Magical Stitches in Macon, GA for $5.00 per yard. The bottom one is what I used in my round robin this year.
I found this at the Hancock Fabric in Macon. It was 75% off, score. I think it might be a shirt.
The next shop I visited was Suzanne's Quilt Shop in Moutrie, GA. The fat quarter was regular price, but the other three were $5.00 per yard
Also found a quilting book that I have been looking for. They are one of the shops participating in the Row by Row Experience 2014. I purchased the kit for their row. Their shop is gorgeous and they have a wide variety of fabrics, well worth the travel time.
The last shop I visited was A Scarlet Thread in McDonough, GA. They are another beautiful shop with all the latest greatest fabric and patterns. I fell in love with this bicycle quilt. I think I might add a cat in the basket with the flowers. I had a wonderful week looking after the Kitties and shop hopping.
The day after they returned I awoke to find I was very light headed and dizzy. So off to the Doc-in-the-box since I was not in my town. They were very good and found that I had a UTI. After two shots in the rear I am now on the mend at home. When I got home it was time to get new carpet installed in the whole house, good thing I had prepared before I left for my GA adventure. Now I just have to put everything back where it belongs and get rid of some unused stuff.
Hopefully I will get to do some quilting this weekend.
