Happy Easter!

Hope you are all able to see or talk to family this weekend. I am spending Easter with my MIL, SIL, Kids and DH.

I cutout most of the pieces for my "Life is Beautiful" quilt. So I started assembling the blocks.

 I received my copy of the new wool magazine today.

This looks like a project that I will be putting on my list.

 This little bird with the cherry looks like a fun quilt or maybe a wall hanging. I need to spend some time reading this magazine before I decide which project to try.

The other thing that has been on my mind is which mid-arm quilt machine to buy. I have been looking for awhile and am now almost ready to buy. All I have to do is decide which one. I have come down to these two , an 18" Innova by ABM or a 18" Jewel by Baby Lock. Decisions, decisions........

I visited the LQS on Tuesday and Nancy was talking about this pattern and planning to have it made up in some current pastel fabric for the shop. I remembered that I had been saving red, white & blue scraps for awhile. I was planning to make this quilt and decided that now was the time, I looked at my pattern and it was dated March 2007, The Quilter magazine. Now I have an empty plastic box to gather some scrappy 2" wof strips for another one. This time this time just scrappy with a black grid.

Made this star for a friend who is collecting them to make a quilt for a wounded soldier that she knows.

Also finished the Tonga block for this month. (it is the one on the lower right) It feels good to be caught up.

Tomorrow is my Busy Bee meeting and I may sort through my 2" strip box to see if I have enough wof strips for the next scrap quilt.

This quilt was beautiful and hand quilted.

Someday I would like to take a class and learn how to make this fine paper pieced compasses.

This one was quite interesting to me because it was made from yo-yos and looked as if it was painted also.

We found a three quilts made by Lynn Buske who lives in Lexington, SC.

This feathered star block is another quilt I would like to master one day soon.
