The Winners are...........

I drew the winners right after I finished making these squares.

I decided to finish my Colorblock Swap Blocks and I think that I will also send them off this weekend.

The beautiful Quilt inspector Bandit with the help of her minion DD#2 drew the Winners from the 19 people who left comments on my July 3rd post.

Marion, OH County Fair Pictures

This is a Mural in downtown Marion, OH, my girls thought it was pretty cool.

This quilt was a pretty combination of embroidery and applique.

I was not to sure of the colors in this quilt, but my oldest daughter liked the pattern.

Patriotic fan quilt.

Pretty flying geese and flowers.

Loved all the different colored roses.

Giveaway update and Quilt Show Pictures

Number one is two fat quarters of their signature batik that started with the Batiks Etcetera logo and added swirls. The swirls are 1/2" and the logo varies from 1" to 2". I picked up one with purples, oranges, and reds. The other one is rainbow colors on purple.

Number 2 is a package of batik charm squares, from their Nickel club. There are 43 five inch squares of Spring colors.

The following pictures are from the NQA show that I attended in Columbus, Ohio in June.

There were alot of very beautiful quilts in this show and I only took a few pictures to share.

I really liked this sampler with all of it's wonderful borders.

The baskets on this quilt inspired my Mom to start a red work quilt of some embroidery from a pattern she found at the show.

This was another embroidery red work quilt and the setting struck me.

The machine quilting on this quilt was just spectacular.

Look at this detail of the corner, I love how the bunny stands out.

Last but not least this appliqued quilt was a knockout.

4th of July Celebration

I worked on making a wall hanging that I taught as a class earlier this year into a quilt. The idea for this came to me when I was in Ohio visiting my Mother. We were in a quilt shop and they had some fabric that went with wall hanging and then I also remembered the pattern that I bought from Kim of "Kim's Big Quilting Adventure". So I started doodling.......
Then, I came up with the following plan, that uses Kim's border. I really like how it frames the final quilt.

After getting started on the quilt, I had to stop and bake the pie for our Holiday dinner that was planned for Sunday.

I hope that you all had a wonderful 4th of July! I baked a cherry pie from cherries that were picked by my kids when we were at my Mothers in Ohio. We shared the pie with my Mother in law and Sister in law on the 5th to celebrate.

The rest of the weekend I worked on making this wall hanging into a bed quilt.

This is about 2/3 done, and I have now picked up some more of the fabrics from the local quilt shop and ordered another piece from the Internet to finish. As with many of my ideas this one is now going to be a king size quilt. I hope to get it finished by August so that it can be quilted and entered into this years quilt show in November.
