More Idaho, a Blog friend and work in progress

She teaches a lot of very interesting classes, I wish I lived nearer so that I could take some of them.

This is my friend's dog Jackson, isn't he handsome.......

This is my friends daughter's dog Palace, who is 5 months old and temporarily staying in Idaho (he lives in New York)

On the day before I left Idaho to go home, I was able to meet Trish (aka http://bebesboutique.blogspot.com/) and her mother for dinner. It is really fun to get to actually talk in person with friends that you make on the Blogs. She gave me one of her dolls who is now in my sewing room helping me Quilt.

And finally here is the quilt top that I put together from the charm squares and fabric that I received from http://www.sqashhousequilts.blogspot.com/ giveaway. Thanks Candace, I think it turned out beautiful.

Now I need to clean up my sewing room and put away all the goodies I bought on my trip. Yes, I'll show you pictures tomorrow...........Marj

HMQS Quilt Show

Quilting With The Monks Retreat

I got back home last night. I received the prize from http://www.squashhousequilts.blogspot.com/ , Thanks Candace. I will show more pictures when I decide what pattern to use with the fabric.

Now, the trip info!

The weather was great for staying in to quilt, we arrived Monday (5/4/09) with sunshine and unloaded our quilting supplies. The next couple of days we had some rain showers mixed with sunshine and rainbows.

Loved what Wanda was doing with this quilt layout.

This is a layout of a pattern called shadowbox, I think that I may need to make one of these. this one was done with flannel.

Nancy worked on this bargello and I learned that wide cuts make a shallow curve and thin cuts make a steep curve.

Maryanne was working on this star quilt for a black & white challenge.
The above pictures are some of the other projects that I was able to photograph, there were to many to get a shot of all of them!

One of the ladies was working on finishing all the quilts that she started in classes from this last year. I think I could learn from her example, she is fairly new to quilting. I hope that she can keep up the good example.

These are the result of a challenge that we worked on during the retreat. It started as 4 fat quarters and was given in 6 clues. The end table topper was able to be backed and bound with only the original 4 fat quarters and a piece of batting from your stash.

This is the project that I brought along to work on and it took me almost the whole four days. The retreat was one of the best that I have been on. We had lots of good food, good friends, fun productivity and shopping in the nearby towns.
