Next quilts in line to be quilted...

This top and the next one are my Mothers and I have had them a long time. Now I need to get them quilted and in the mail to her before the end of this coming week. The first one will be easy because I think a pantograph will be good on it.

I am thinking that this one needs to have block to block and quilting in the sashing.

So, I did some doodles and came up with a plan. Hopefully I will get these quilted this weekend and in the mail early next week.

Lydia House Quilt...

I finished quilting this quilt today and hope to get the binding on tonight.

 Chipper helped by inspecting the back. I still have threads to bury.

I quilted in some Bees on some of the blocks, because this quilt was made by The Busy Bees. It will be donated to the Lydia House in Augusta.

 I had lunch with Carolyn, Susan and Regina (Susan's sister from NY). We are missing one person to make our April reunion complete, Jill. One year ago we were in Cincinnati at the International Quilt Show.

I think that we should all plan on attending the show in 2013. I am game if the rest of you would like to start planning.

New/old sewing machine...

I have a good Husband. He saw an ad on the bulletin board where he works that listed this treadle for sale. He actually contacted the seller and brought the info home to me. Well, needless to say it now lives at my house. It's story is that it came to the US from England thirty years ago where it lived with its family doing nothing but looking pretty. It is really grimy and dirty. (I think they were smokers.) In the drawers are extra bobbins, accessories and the original manual. All of the other important parts are there and move easily, so now I just need to find someone to give her the attention she  needs to be a working happy machine again.

Her decals look like she never got to do much sewing, if the grime was cleaned off I think she would look brand new. She is a Singer model 27 and I was told her birthday was1914.
