Seam Inspection

I'm still playing with the 4SQS swap blocks, I have until mid August to decide on a layout.

The seam inspector showed up today to help with my RWB quilt. This was him holding down one end while I was trying to sew the last border on.

Then he thoroughly checked to see if the seams were in fact a 1/4" . LOL, Gotta love em! But it sure is easier to get things done when he stays on the cutting table while I sew. I did finish the RWB quilt top and will post a picture tomorrow.

Spent some time today playing with my 4SQS squares, now I have 40 half square triangles. This could be a nice layout, but it might be too boring..............hummmmm needs to percolate a little longer

Ready, Set, Sew!!!!!

I finished painting the walls Monday, my DH put up my new shelves yesterday morning and last night I returned most of my quilting stuff...............hooray!!!!!!!!

I still have more work to do sorting through what I need to keep and what I can part with.

But as of tonight I can actually sew again, whew I was starting to have withdrawls. LOL

Stash Survey

This is my pantry/sewing area looking from the kitchen to the right. The room/closet is 5'-7"deep x 9'-0"wide. My sewing desk usually sits under the window on the 5'-7" wall. All of my quilt stuff was stored on a 16" deep x 9'-0"long shelf and other various plastic drawers and shelves underneath. The biggest hole is from the shelf's "support"(LOL) that was not even near a wall stud. And the food part of the space is stored on the opposite 5'-7" wall.
All I can say is wow! I have been putting projects in my small quilting area and have not been finishing things at the same rate. Now I must take it all in and decide what projects that I really love. Since they are all spread through the house (kitchen and dinning room) and a shelf in the garage. I need to move some of the stuff to new homes, good thing that my guild is having a garage sale program in October. I hope that I can be ready by then.

This is the view of the dining room pile...............Now all I have to do is go through it all and decide what goes back into the sewing area. In the meantime my husband has started to install a new shelf system, that is actually attached to the studs in the wall. I am fixing the holes in the wall and then painting. When this is done I can then move back into my pantry/sewing room. It is a small area but, I can really get a lot of fabric in there and food too.

What I need from all of you is the answer to a few questions......

1. Do you think things that I have put together as a project, for example a pattern and the fabric to do it, should be sold as a kit or broken up into patterns, books and fabric?

2. How much per yard should I charge for fabric pieces 1 yard and up, $3, $4, or $5 ?

3. Do you think old rulers , cutting boards and gadgets would sell?
