This is the project that I helped demonstrate at our guild meeting last night. I have not finished much raw edge applique, but the challenge of demonstrating it helped get my creative juices going. The good part of this task was that I could start a new project and after our demo we drew a name of one of the members who wanted to try this out. So, the started project and all the materials to finish it went home with a happy guild member.
This is a set of borders that I have had the applique pieces fused down for probably a year. As of today I have finally gotten going on stitching the applique down. I am setting a goal of getting this UFO quilt top finished and ready to get quilted by the end of March. I already have the center pieced and some blocks for another border.
Looking at this quilt again, I am still really liking it. I am not sure what my plan for the next border was. Hopefully I wrote something down, I'll be searching through the stuff I saved in the bag with the top so far.I think that it is going to be inspiration in redecorating my living room. My plan is to hang it on the wall behind my couch.
