Birthday Flowers

I received Birthday Flowers from my sister today. They sure did brighten up a very rainy Saturday. I ended up finishing a book that I started reading earlier this month. It was "a single thread" by Marie Bostwick. It was good story with interesting characters and I recommend that if you have a chance read it. Tomorrow will be a sewing day since my Mother in law is making dinner for us. I think birthdays are a good thing..........Marj

Baskets, still playing

Still playing with the sweet rolls. I was able to get ten baskets from one sweet roll, but I am going to sew up another ten so that it will be a more usable size.

I didn't do any sewing today because it is my birthday. So for my best gift, I have spent the day doing things with my family. My second best gift is the trip that I will take in May to Idaho to spend time with my girlfriend at her retreat and then the HMQS in Salt lake City.

Moda Sweet Rolls

I got a box of Moda Sweet Rolls at my local quilt shop, they are two rolls of ten 1 1/2" wide strips. So I just had to try them out. I had a Jelly Roll pattern for these basket blocks and decided to figure out how to down size them from using 2 1/2" strips to 1 1/2" strips. I will actually be able to get 10 baskets out of 10 strips. You could make 5 stars from the 10 strips. Tomorrow I am going to decide which project to do for my 5th UFO for our quilt guild challenge......Marj
