Quilt pick up

I drove to Laurens, SC to pick up two quilts that Betsey Dinger finished quilting for me. The quilting on these two quilts is just beautiful, I'm going to enter them both in my Guilds quilt show in the Fall.

Now, I just have to get the bindings put on.

While I was at Stitches, I found some black fabric for the Cube's background

Chipper likes it. What do you think?

I also found this Jason Yenter Christmas fabric from last year. I wanted to use it to make a wall hanging from my friends Tree for all Seasons pattern.

Design wall

I took my diamond blocks to the Aiken Quilt Shoppe, Nancy has a big design wall and great lighting. I am leaning toward using this layout of one big cube on a B&W background with small tumbling cubes as an outer border. Now I just need to make three more big diamonds and figure out how many &  what size to make the small cubes. Also need to find the background fabric.

Still thinking about how I would like to layout these striped diamond blocks. I guess now I need to go to my graph paper and doodle. I am thinking the background should be a mostly black print.

I played with my striped fabric.

I have 11 diamonds sewn together and about 11 more cut out.

Still not sure what layout I want to use yet, but I love the diamonds.

Chipper thinks that we should play with it a little more and find some black fabric for accent.
