Wool Crazy

Got some wool from Bunny Hill Designs in the mail yesterday.

 

They are beautiful pastel colors and now I just have to find some time to get back to my WCQ project.

Today I've been catching up on chores and errands , because I am leaving tomorrow to go to the Charleston Quilt Show. I am ridding there with some friends, we will shop Thursday and attend the show on Friday.

No Sew Block Swap R/W/B Group #2

Finished my second Quilts for Kids top, now I just need to decide how I want to quilt it.

 

This afternoon I worked on my RED/WHITE/BLUE blocks from the no sew block swap. I have been thinking of saching them with gold stars of some sort..........but am still looking for some inspiration. This is probably going to be used for some veterans charity. It might look better set on point and I may make 3 more blocks.

Crabapple top and Quilts For Kids

I finished the Crabapple Quilt Top. The pattern is from Bonnie Hunter's book "Leaders and Enders". The apples I used for the corners are from Quiltmaker's All-Time Favorites, Spring 2004.

  

Darn it the close up shows how bad my mitered corners are. I wonder if they will be able to be eased flat when quilted???

I found out about

Quilts for kids  from my friend  Susan and decided to make a few charity quilts for them. They are sending me a kit to make one from, but I also have some other excess kid fabric that needs a good home. This is a split 9-patch and you can find the pattern on their web site http://www.quiltsforkids.org

 

MISSION STATEMENT: Transforming discontinued, unwanted and other fabrics into patchwork quilts that comfort children with life-threatening illnesses and children of abuse. 

I like their idea and so this year I am going to try to make at least one a month.

So, I plan to get 2 more done this week while I wait for my order of wool to arrive from Bunny Hill Designs. Also I need to get the binding on my bargello quilt. I'll take some pictures of the Bargello Quilt when the binding is done.
