Part 2 Idaho trip

We arrived at the Monastery of the Ascension on Monday for the quilting retreat. We had a really good time sewing, shopping and sharing our love of quilting.

I still have to add the finishing touches, but this is a pattern that I got when I was at the Charleston Quilt Show. It's the origami shirt pattern from People, places & quilts.

This is "The Quilt Barn" a very nice shop located in Kimberly, ID. They carry everything from wool to every line of Moda and they also have two long arms to quilt your finished tops for you.
They even have a BLOG !
I'm still trying to find a place to organize all the goodies that I brought home, Everything has now arrived, as I had to mail most of it home to avoid the airlines fees for overweight baggage. Tomorrow I will show you the HMQS that we went to in Utah.

Part 1 Idaho trip

I arrived in Kuna, Idaho on Friday April 30th at noon. My friend Julia had a shop and sew scheduled for that night from 6:00pm-midnight, I made it until 10:00pm when I had her DH pick me up so I could get some sleep. 

The next morning we got up early to go to the Spring Fling Luncheon & Quilt Showing featuring quilts by: Karen Schoepflin Hagen. She is a very talented quilt artist from Genesee, Idaho. The event was a fund raiser for Cascade, Idahos Medical Center. Karen showed us probably over a hundred quilts......two sets of small playing card quilts & 2 sets of small alphabet quilts, then the rest were mainly large bed size quilts. All of them were beyond words beautiful. So here are a few to share, if you ever get a chance to view her quilts I would recommend doing it.

I hope that Karen gets her wish to have a museum for her quilts, so that more people can enjoy them. She is a very talented Lady.

I'm Back!

I got home from my trip to Idaho last night. I took over 150 pictures, so I will have to go through them to cut them down so that you don't get bored. I'll download them tonight, but I will leave you with a cute picture of my friend's dogs, Daisey (the Pug) and Jackson.....
