Grady looked at my progress on the Braided quilt and luckily you can't see the problem he found, because he rejected this section. The braids do not line up.

So......as soon as he finished the inspection I had to disassemble this section. Now I will be getting back to this after the weekend. I must get ready for my Galaxy Stars class tomorrow......

The other Inspector was too tired to check things out.

Braided quilt

I'm still working on this Braided quilt. It has been pretty easy and after making my RWB wall hanging into a king size quilt I needed something easy. The book called for 4 braids, but alas that seemed a little small, so since I had just enough material to make 5 braids, well that's just what I have done. For some reason I think 5 stripes look more balanced than 4 stripes, what do you think? And now I have leftover B&W fabric for another quilt that I want to start, it uses templates and comes from the last issue of Quilt Maker (it was on the front cover, in 30's fabric.) While I was home in June I was able to have plastic templates made for me by my Dad.
The only other news I have is that this Saturday I am taking the Galaxy Stars class by Anita Bowen with my Quilt Guild. Can hardly wait, I have completed my homework for the class and am ready to get sewing. I'll take my camera with me to class (and extra batteries).

RWB top finished

I finished my RWB quilt, it measures 99"x 117". Now I just need to find a quilter who can do some custom magic to the borders. I used Kim's pattern "Fireworks"(http://kimsbigquiltingadventure.blogspot.com/) for the outer border.

Today I started this braided quilt, mostly because I have another quilt in mind that needs the leftover black & white fabrics :) lol. The only problem with finishing this one is I need to get more of the red fabric. sounds like a field trip on Tuesday...........Marj
