Saturday/CPQ Sew What

hooray!

The pocket was supposed to be the cat fabric lined with the bee fabric. I ended up putting the pocket together and cutting the notches off only to find that the cat fabric was upside down....grrrrr! But this gave me a "design option" and I was able to add the cat fabric as an applique. This will be one of the purses that I will keep for myself, along with one that has a funky handle.

Went to our guilds Sew What today. This is an example of the scrappy X-blocks that guild members made and donated.

We were about a dozen CPQ guild members strong and I think that we were able to assemble at least a dozen small quilt tops for our charity project.

I put this one together out of some left over green&white 4-patches that one of the other ladies donated to the cause. We are using lots of leftover fabric to piece backs for these quilts. Our plan is to piece 12" squares together to make 120" wide by many yards long so that we can load multiple small quilts on the long arm machine to quilt. I'll try to get pictures when we get to the step of quilting them.

End of another week

Another purse done. I only have 2 more to go in the batch that I cut out. The one that matches this one had a "design option" happen and now is on it's way to completion.

 Chipper is busy inspecting the finished purses.

My oriental circle quilt is close to adding the outside borders. I found this kanji that is the character for "Daughter". I plan to try and quilt this one myself, I'll show you progress as I go.
