Things are geting better

I won a giveaway at Emilie Richards  blog, it was a book written by her friend Julie Compton titled "Tell No Lies". I will be reading it while I wait for Emilie's book "Fortunate Harbor" to be released in July 2010.
I also appreciate all the comforting thoughts that you have sent my way. I am currently testing out a new cat, that was rescued and nursed back to health by my pet sitter Nancy Woodward of  http://www.aikenpetsit.com/
Her son raised this cat named Chipper from a small kitten, but like many 20 year olds he is not settled enough to give this kitty a stable home and Nancy is already feeding six dogs and an outdoor cat. They know my situation and asked if I would take Chip.

I'll get some better pictures later, his first day was very tiring and we didn't even do any quilting.

Binding

Working on binding my 30's quilt. It is taking awhile, because it is a large king size, over 100" per side.

I'm Back!

I bet that most of you didn't know that last week was Spring break for us. We live across the river from Augusta, GA and so our Spring School Break is the Masters Golf Tournament Week. Sorry that I didn't warn you of the break, but with the sick Cat and getting a two part vacation organized I ran out of time fast. My youngest daughter and I went to Myrtle Beach Easter Sunday. Then my DH and Collage daughter joined us on Thursday 4/8/10. So the Pet sitter for the Cat and the boarding of the Dog had to all be set up before I left town.

This is how my DD and I spent most of our beach time, we mostly looked for shark's teeth. This time of the season the ocean is still cold, so no swimming for us. 

When we weren't relaxing or eating, we did some shopping. I did get a few quilting books, but the focus of this adventure was spending time together.

When the rest of the family arrived we enjoyed more of the beach, shopping, eating, going to the movies and Brookgreen Gardens Butterfly exhibit.

When I got home yesterday this package was waiting for me. It is the prize from  Loris . Thank you so much!!!

Now I have to get busy and trim my 30's quilt and get at least the binding sewn on before Guild meeting tonight.
