Pink Basket Quilt

Not much sewing going on here. A few days ago my washing machine broke, after at least 10 years of functioning. So, I had to do a lot of studying the Internet to find out what kind of machines exist now. Then I had to go to the local stores to negotiate the best price and get a reasonable delivery date. After a couple of days I was able to purchase a washing machine that will be delivered this coming Wednesday. Just in time to get my laundry done so that I can leave on Friday for my trip to Idaho. LOL
Today was my day to take my MIL and SIL to Augusta shopping for draperies. They were able to find some at Penneys , get them ordered and purchase rods ( which they plan to have my husband hang for them.) My husband returns from his business trip on Sunday.
Now, I have just a few days left to sew uninterrupted and get ready for my trip. The pink basket quilt is coming along and I hope to have the top complete tonight.
I will take a break tomorrow to go to the Strawberry Festival with a friend.
Now it's off to sew I go............Marj

Books and fabric

The mailman brought these books today that I bought from Connecting Threads 40% off sale.

I think that I will have to wait till I get back from my HMQS trip to try some of these quilts. But I can look for fabric when I am in Idaho and Utah.

This is fabric that I am going to make a quilter tote for my friend in Idaho, her favorite color is yellow.

These fabrics are for a mystery project at the retreat in Idaho, my friend told me to get 5 fat quarters for a table topper. Since my MIL has moved into a new place here and has new colors. I plan to make it to give to her in August for her birthday. The bottom piece will be the back.

Finished Quilt Tote

I finished my Finished Quilt Tote that I started at my friend Susan's class on Saturday. Now I think I will make some more for gifts, because it was so easy.These are made from 2 1/2" strips, just toying with an idea for using up scraps, but it takes a full width of fabric. Not sure yet if I want to stick to a color scheme or go completely scrappy.

Now I am off to Augusta (Jeff's sewing & vac) to get my old sewing machine serviced. I ran the needle into it's foot and I also can't remember when it was last oiled & cleaned........Marj

Quilt tote

I took a class on Saturday to make a quilting tote, thought that I would get it finished tonight, but the inspecter has a different idea. Until she gets tired of the bag I will look through my stash to find fabric that I can use to make a bag for my hostess in Idaho...........Marj
