Flowers & Scraps

I have been seeing flowers on some of your blogs and just outside my own door. Thought that I would share a few today. My garden is mostly day lilies and I will share a few more tomorrow.

I am planning on assembling some of my newly cut up bricks and squares into these scrappy blocks. I have 50 of the center 4patches that were leader/enders. 

FWB 17-21 + scraps under control

I worked on my Farmer's Wife blocks, these are blocks 17-21, now I have 90 more to go.

I decided yesterday to get my scraps under control and pulled out my big bin and started cutting. I stacked up odd triangles for making 
HSTs.  Then I started cutting 2 1/2"x 4 1/2" bricks, 1 12"-2"-2 1/2" strips, and 2"-@ 1/2" squares. These are the sizes that I use most so that is what I cut.

I continued cutting until the bin was empty, yea! I could not bear to throw everything away, so I am going to give the less than 1 1/2" strips, crumbs, and stuff I don't want to see again to a friend that uses them for rug making, post cards and other crafts.  It really feels good to have this bin empty.

Farmer's Wife Blocks

I cut out some more blocks to work on tomorrow and since TV was pretty boring tonight, I ended up sewing all that I cut out. I guess that I will try to cut out a few more for tomorrow..... only 95 more to go.

Loved the Barenaked Ladies !!!

My family and I love this band and we found that they were performing at The Performing Arts Center in N. Charleston. So, I was able to get tickets and a hotel nearby and off we went to enjoy the concert!

This picture is from the internet. The Barenaked Ladies is a band out of Canada. I'm pretty sure that my DH really enjoyed this years' Birthday present. It's good to find an activity that the whole family can enjoy together.
