Tonga is now a flimsy.....

I finished the Tonga top, but can only show a corner because it is too early in the morning to spread it out on the bed. 

Tonga center almost together....

Here is the center of the quilt laid out. I now have the three columns assembled. Tomorrow I am going to try to finish the top. Only two more borders to go.

Tonga setting triangles....

I am finding out that this quilt is not easy...the blocks were not too difficult. But as I start making all the parts for assembling the quilt top I am finding it really challenging. Yesterday's zigzag columns were not too hard and I was able to get them sewed and trimmed in one day. Today's setting triangles are another story. They have quite a few pieces and have rights and lefts to keep track of. I spent all morning cutting all the parts out. It has taken me all afternoon and evening to get all the triangles assembled.

 These are the smallest corners, three right and three left all trimmed

Here are the large setting triangles. there are three left facing and twenty four right facing. So far I have the three lefts trimmed and one right trimmed.

Here are the other twenty three that need to be trimmed. I may finish the trimming tonight while I still remember my technique. I will be very glad when this part of the quilt is done. I am sure this is the is the trickiest part. Once the center is assembled I have one more pieced border that looks to be much easier. Then the quilting shoul be a piece of cake!LOL.....

Tonga zigzag columns...

I was able to get the two zigzag columns sewn together today. I hope to get the setting triangles done on Monday and if all goes well I can get the Tonga BOM put together this week.
