Hug Swap Mailed

I'm still trying to finish assembling my 30's quilt top.

It has not been easy since the inspector decided to get a closer look. She was purring the whole thime as she crawled through my quilt pieces and layed down on my arm. After this interuption I remembered that I had to finsh my Hug Swap, because it had to be mailed today.

I forgot to get a picture before I put it in the mail so I will link you to my Swap partner's blog when she receives her Swap gift.

Now it's back to finishing the 30's quilt top............Marj

Finished Bag

My BFF's friend who was here from CA loved Mary Jo's and had to use at least one of the flat rate postal boxes to mail part of her goodies home. It is way cheaper than paying the airline for an extra bag. Also then you don't have to carry it and you get a nice package in the mail a few days after you get home and are ready to start sewing again!
This picture did not turn out too good, but I finished the Bag for my MIL and gave it to her on Sunday.
The Quilt inspector is really bored with the progress of my 30s Quilt........yawn......zzzzz

I have now gotten the 4 side zigzag borders assembled. Now I only have 9 more blocks to make and then I can put this top together.

Once I finish my 30s quilt top and HUG MUG Swap stuff I am going to make a list or two. One for finished tops waiting to be quilted and one of projects waiting to be worked on. This is going to be quite a frighteningly long list, but I think it will help me focus............Marj

Loot from Gastonia, NC

Well, I added fabric to my stash and I am blaming it on having to help entertain an out of state Quilter who was visiting my BFF. She is from CA and is a fairly new to quilting, so she still needs more fabric. We were a group of Four that traveled to Gastonia, NC, in the Charlotte area
This set of fatquarters jumped out at me because I love to collect bunny fabric. The bunnies were so cute and the fatquarters at this little shop were on sale for $2.00 ea, buy 10 get 2 free. Such a deal I just could not resist and the bunny fabric just called to me.

The rest of my purchases were made at Mary Jo's. First was this pretty piece for the back of the 30's Quilt

This piece of prequilted fabric is for making a quick bag for my MIL to carry her card stuff to Bridge Club. She asked if I wold please make one for her, she is a nice lady so how could I say no.

I found the pieces that I need to make trees on the Owl Quilt.

I found the background fabric for my African Shadow Boxes. I also found an entire table of African fabric, so I was able to get some fabric for the border of the quilt. I had only purchased fatquarters when I found the pictures at the HMQS in Utah.

And last but not least, I found some background with better contrast for my Twisted Star Quilt. All in all it was a really fun day out with Quilt Friends. I must say that I think I was pretty good at handling the temptation, the only things that were not on my list were the fatquarters.We laughed, shopped, ate good food, and had safe travels. What more could you ask for?
