The first class was Background Basics and Beyond with Linda Thielfoldt. This is my hands on practice piece. Linda showed us fifty different patterns to use for background fillers. My only problem with the class was that all the quilt machines were set up for regular height people. (wish they would consider setting up one table for short ladies like me) I would highly recommend taking a class from her, she was fun and very informative.
The second class was Tumbling blocks with Nelly Vileikis. She is a very organized teacher. Her kits were already cut and ready to sew. She even provided the special ruler for us. I plan to use this technique to make a wall hanging in colors that I prefer. Another teacher I would take another class from.
The last class was Zingy Log Cabin with Gayle Wallace. She is another wonderful organized teacher. Her directions and kits were complete and easy to follow. This will be a lap size quilt, even the borders were in the kit. I would definitely take another class with her.
This past Wednesday was the day that my Quilt guild had our quilts judged for our annual Quilt Show. This coming Monday they will be hung at The Aiken History Museum. The winners were announced today and the two quilts that I entered won ribbons. I will be able to take better pictures of them on Tuesday.
I got my quilt machine back today from an official service and cleaning, so this weekends plan is to get some quilting done.
