Busy Friday...

I have been trying to finish up the quilting on "Fire on the Mountain"

I have finished the dark portions and now just have the light areas to go.

 For marking the corners I am trying a product that is new to me. It is a plastic mesh that has holes in it for transferring your design to the quilt. Since this is a wedding quilt I am adding a flaming heart to each corner. 

Now back to quilting as I will have to stop at 5:30 to get ready for Dinner with Bonnie Hunter. Yes, she is here tonight to get ready for the Smith Mountain workshop that she is teaching tomorrow. I'll post more later!

I just did freehand flames in all the triangles. In the four corners I used the transfer mesh to add the flame heart that I drew. I am not totally sold on the mesh, as it seems to have too small of holes in it. But it did do a good job of making transferring a design easy. I wonder if the fabric used to make wedding veils (tole?) would work?

Busy Week....

I finished putting this top together and found a piece of white printed on muslin for the back in my stash. I have even decided to quilt flowers in the beige hexagons and leafy vines in the blue areas.

 I made the fist block in the Grandmothers Choice block-a-week with Barbara Brackman. I'm not sure if I will stick with these colors, but they were scraps from the UFO I pulled out to work on next.
Now, I must get back to quilting. As I have a quilt that needs to be finished for a Saturday delivery. I also have to pick up a quilt on Thursday to quilt for a customer. It is exciting and fun to quilt for others. Have a fun week quilting!
