Here's what I'm working on...

I pulled out one of the first quilts that I made in 1989 in one of my first quilt classes I took. It's fun to look at old fabric and my beginner skill level.

Here is the start of a new updated version that I am going to offer as a class at the LQS. I love the bright colors that I found in my stash. I just need to find some border and backing fabric.

I also pulled out some batiks from my stash and started making these beach stars. They are 8" blocks. I first saw them on the moda bakeshop in a table runner using 5" blocks. I have enough to make a twin size quilt and may teach my method as a class.

Today my Busy Bee group meets and I am taking the apple wall hanging to work on.

Quilt top finished! I hope to get it quilted this weekend, but my machine is sounding like it needs oil, so I will drop it off at the shop tomorrow and pick up my Tonga Rhapsody BOM.

Not for me!

I made the one on the right first and mistakenly used steam to press it. Then I pressed all the pieces first with best press and then with a dry iron to construct the block on the left. My second try was less wonky, but still wonky. So, at this point in my quilting life I have decided that this block with it's 26 pieces, in a 7 1/2" block,  is too difficult for me to master at this time.I guess in order to try again I will have to find someone who is good at it to take a class in how to work with bias edges.

Now I'm going to work on my apple wall hanging.

 Chipper fond the whole wonky block ordeal very boring....
