Ready for entry in the quilt show

I decided to make two new pillow cases to hold the quilts that I am entering in our Guild's quilt show.

 I am only able to enter two quilts so tonight I made these two pillow cases, maybe they will bring me good luck.

By bed time they are labeled and ready to drop off tomorrow. I hope that these  pillow cases will make finding them easier when I pick up the quilts at the end of the show.

Almost a top

Yesterday before the MLB game I got the center together.

 Today's goal is to get the borders on.

Then tonight I will be watching the playoff  game, hoping that the SF Giants will win, so that they can go to the World Series.

 

Tuesday progress

I finished all of the embroidery, and plan to assemble the top tomorrow.

As for earlier today, I went shopping at "The Quilt Shop on the Corner" located in Augusta. The shop is unfortunately going out of business and today everything was 50% off.I added some brights to my stash for a piece of cake applique quilt in my future.

Chipper took a break from spider hunting in the garage to check out what I brought home.

One more block....

I used metallic thread for the first time today and boy is it hard to sew with! I finished one spiderweb block and have one more to stitch. When I finish that one I will trim the other embroidery squares and put the borders on them. Then the blocks can be assembled.

I've been trying to finish these embroidery blocks for my Halloween quilt. I have worked on them while watching the National League playoff games on TV. I only have two more to go, but am trying to find some sparkly thread for the spiderwebs.
